Résumé

Croton oligandrum essential oil composition Euphorbiaceae linalool
The essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation from stem bark of Croton oligandrum Pierre ex Hutch was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Sixty-three components, which represented 98.5% of the total constituents of the oil were identified. The major constituents found were 1-octen-3-ol (2.6%), β-pinene (5.1%), 1,8-cineole (6.7%) linalool (53.5%), terpinen-4-ol (2.8%), α-terpineol (3.6%), β-caryophyllene (3.1%), caryophyllene oxide (1.2 %), guaiol (1.9%), α-eudesmol (1.1%) and benzyl benzoate (2.7%). The oil extracts did not reveal any important antioxidant or antiradical activities.
