Abstract
A new species of Schismatogobius, a freshwater goby, is described from Sulawesi (Indonesia). Itdiffers from other species belonging to the genus by a high percentage of genetic divergence in partial COI gene(652 bp) and by several characters, including the number of pectoral fin rays, the pectoral fin colour pattern, thejaw length/head length ratio and the preanal length.
