Most part of the Grand’Combe population is in a precarious situation. And many type 2 diabetic patients are unbalanced. We assessed compliance with non-drug interventions in these patients. And carried out a qualitative study with 13 individual interviews. Those interviews were analyzed thematically. The EPICE score was assessed, and more than 75% of the interviewees were in a precarious situation. The majority described the diabetic disease well, and overall the various complications were cited. The experience of the disease was perceived as restrictive for some. Conversely, others did not feel sick because they were asymptomatic. Concerning non-drug interventions, balanced diet was mentioned spontaneously by all the interviewees, and we noted many obstacles to its implementation. For physical activity, according to the Ricci and Gagnon score the majority of patients were active. However, they expressed a certain number of obstacles. Three interviewees cited psychological care in the management of type 2 diabetes. In conclusion, the care of diabetic patients must be multi-professional. And one must co-construct with the patient to find indivudual, adapted and acceptable solutions for all. In this, the participatory health center model seems relevant for this population.
