Résumé
Objective: cardiovascular diseases are the second leading cause of death in France and the general practitioner (GP) is a key player in the evaluation of the cardiovascular risk for his patients. And yet the health of the general practitioner is little studied in the literature. The objective of this study is to identify the level of risk of occurrence of cardiovascular events in the population of general practitioners aged 40 to 65 in Languedoc-Roussillon by the SCORE scale.Method: a computer questionnaire was sent by email to 2 444 installed general practitioners via the departmental medical order of Herault, Aude, Gard, Pyrenees-Orientales and Lozere. 53 general practitioners met the criteria for the study. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional observational study. Results: the study shows that the "high GCVR" of general practitioners is less important than in the general population (2% vs 17%). There is a significant relationship between the GCVR and the age of GP. This work on our limited sample does not show a significant link between the gender and the GCVR. However, the characteristics of the population studied and SCORE scale parameters are close to those observed in other studies at the national level. Conclusion: this study did not show any increase in GCVR, in primary prevention, in general practitioners according to their gender and department exercise.
