According to the WHO, environmental exposures are responsible for 12.6 million deaths each year worldwide and contribute to cancerous, cardiovascular, allergic, neurological, and infectious diseases. To answer French environmental public health polices (PNSE4) we designed a course both presential and online with ARS Occitanie’s partnership. This pilot study assessed the impact of the e-learning part on participants satisfaction, knowledge, and behaviour changes. Methods: it was a prospective, descriptive, and analytical study. In this 6-hour environmental e-learning course, 4 modules were available: introduction (definitions, exposome), population health (mapping tools, resources, reporting), clinical cases and communication tools. From August to September 2021, we recruited all 1st year general practice interns and teachers from the general practice department of the University of Montpellier-Nîmes (n=130). 74 interns and 10 teachers completed the e-learning and answered the pre-and post test questionnaires. The questionnaires used self-assessed Lickert scales (1 to 5) to estimate participants’ satisfaction, knowledge improvements for 21 environmental parameters and behavioural changes-considering environment health to take care of themselves and their patients’ health. Results: mean satisfaction was 4/5. All knowledge scores increased significantly before/after with a mean difference of 1.5/5 (p<0.0001) for all parameters. Behavioural scores improved significantly by 0.9/5 on participant’s health and by 1.3/5 on their patient’s health (p<0.0001). Discussion: our environmental e-learning course improved satisfaction, knowledge and behaviour validating the 3 first levels of Kirkpatrick’s method. Further studies are required to integrate formative and long-term evaluation. We should also demonstrate the potential benefits for population’s health. This course will integrate new modules and adapt to the needs of the population and health professionals.
