The current norm makes the woman the primary manager of the couple's contraception. Contraception education has focused on women. My study aims to assess the knowledge of men regarding contraception. A descriptive cross-sectional survey was carried out from 07/11/2023 to 08/01/2024 among men aged 18 to 49 years old. Recruitment was done on a voluntary basis, mainly via social networks. Responses were computerized and anonymous. 90% of the men surveyed have good overall knowledge about contraception. But men tend to overestimate their knowledge. 96.96% of participants have a score above average on the “self-assessment” part of the questionnaire while only 33% of participants have a score above average on the true-false part. The best-known methods of contraception are the male condom, the pill, and natural methods. The diaphragm, the vaginal ring and the hormonal patch are little known. Age, family situation or the fact of having already been in a stable relationship or not don’t influence the level of knowledge. Not having children would be associated with a higher level of knowledge. The profession and the level of knowledge of the participants are closely linked. The main sources of information are the Internet, the companion, and the medical profession. 87.31% of men consider that contraception is a very important subject to discuss as a couple but only 38.83% discuss it a lot. 52.28% feel involved in the choice of contraception. 43.40% of men have never gone to the pharmacy to get their partner’s contraceptive.
