In the race for therapeutic innovation, new technological platforms are being developed to explore new approaches. As in the case of Radioligand Therapy (RLT), these new technologies are sometimes a source of constraints. Today, the notion of technological innovation does not seem to have been integrated into Health Technology Assessment. The aim of this study is to assess the impact of the innovative nature of a healthcare product on its evaluation by the health authorities, using RLT as an example. Two analyses were carried out to answer this question, the first focuses on the medico-technical assessment carried out by the CT, while the second concentrates on pricing by the CEPS. Although technological innovation is a real advance, it is not systematically linked to therapeutic innovation, and its consideration in the evaluation of healthcare products is currently limited. To better understand these issues, interviews were conducted with each stakeholder. Among the improvements under consideration are greater conventional flexibility and harmonization at EUnetHTA, which could help accelerate the consideration of technological innovation. To meet these challenges, ongoing collaboration between all players is needed to ensure equitable access to treatments, while preserving the financial sustainability of the healthcare system.
