Résumé
Many studies show a positive correlation between language acquisition and quality parentchild language interactions from the child's birth. Several prevention programs have been implemented in recent years with the aim of promoting promising behaviors among parents, in connection with the early care of young children. However, the scope of these actions seems limited due to a lack of knowledge of parental representations on the child's language development. Therefore, this study consists in comparing the maternal representations of the language development of the child within two separate groups of mothers according to their level of education. The statistical processing of the answers to the interviews indeed shows differences in the maternal representations on the language development of the child. These results confirm the need to target the prevention actions by adapting their content to the representations of different populations on language development.
