Résumé
Château Romassan is located in one of the first regions in France where viticulture is impacted by climate change, with increasingly frequent and severe droughts and higher average temperatures throughout the year. These changes are leading to an increase in the sugar content of the grapes and a decrease in the aromatic potential, leading to very high TAV and a loss of balance in the resulting wines. In spite of these circumstances, irrigation is still forbidden in the Bandol AOC and has led the estate to think about new ways of growing the vines, better adapted to the new climatic conditions. For the past two years, a new method of trellising known as "lyre trellising" has been tried out on a plot of Grenache noir intended for rosé wine. This trellising has a V shape and would delay the accumulation of sugars in the grapes. The results have not yet been conclusive in this respect, but show an improvement in the organoleptic qualities of the wines. The experiment will be continued in future vintages and will allow us to evaluate the benefits of this trellising for the estate and whether it would be wise to extend it to other plots.
