This study aims to investigate the possibility of social (pragmatic) communication disorder in adolescents borned prematurely. These pragmatic difficulties have major impact in the social development of an individual. Through this project, we want that they will be better known and identified in prematurely born adolescents, whose multidisciplinary follow-up remains essential.Method: two groups of adolescents aged from 11 to 15 years were formed: a control group and an experimental group. These two groups were evaluated using the “Protocole d’Évaluation du Langage Élaboré de l’Adolescent” (PÉLÉA©). For each participant, anamnestic data were collected beforehand with a questionnaire for parents. Results: results show a significant difference between the two groups on some tasks of the PÉLÉA©. Adolescents in the experimental group had lower scores than those in the control group. Conclusion: this study showed that prematurity had an impact on the social communication of adolescents. It would be interesting to pursue this work on a larger population to evaluate the effect of the prematurity depending on its degree of severity.
