Résumé
5 to 8% of school-aged children have specific learning disorders. These disorders have many repercussions on the lives of individuals affected, particularly in the acquisition of school skills. However, teachers are often not very aware of these disorders and their effects. Thus, our study is interested in the relevance of carrying out an awareness-raising action on the specific learning disorders for elementary school teachers. This is why an awareness-raising action was proposed to 53 teachers. In order to assess the interest of this action, questionnaires were offered to participants before, after and a few weeks after the awareness-raising action. Despite some biases and limitations, the results point to a clear improvement in teachers' knowledge of specific learning disorders and their sense of competence. As a result, our study highlights the relevance of developing and promoting school-based prevention of specific learning disorders.
