Résumé
Objective: to develop a reporting grid specific to randomised clinical trials of spinal manipulation in patients with low back pain. Method: firstly, an initial grid was enriched by incorporating data from a literature review, supplemented by the opinions of a select committee of experts in the field. Secondly, this preliminary grid is currently being subjected to a first round of the DELPHI method, involving experts carefully selected according to rigorous methodological criteria. Two second rounds of DELPHI will follow before a final consensus is reached. Results: 66 items developed using a mixed qualitative and quantitative strategy based on a broad collection of data from the literature. The first round of DELPHI is still underway, with the grid being submitted to methodically selected experts. To date, 44 items have been directly accepted, none have been eliminated, while 22 items have not yet reached consensus. Conclusion: a grid of quality criteria specifically adapted to RCTs on lumbar spinal manipulation is currently being designed, with the aim of standardising and improving the quality of reporting in this specific area of clinical research.
