Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affects 5.9% of children in the world. Medical treatment can reduce school failure, addictive behaviour, criminality, depression, and suicide. The latest reports and research studies in France have shown that diagnosis can take time to be established, there is an unequal access to care, and families are unsatisfied. The Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Occitanie reached out to the professionals associationOccitadys to structure patient care processes in three levels of procedures and thus address these deficiencies. Between March and April 2021, 16.032 doctors have taken a survey in Occitanie and Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. From this, we selected the data that concerns first care doctors. The aim was to assess their knowledge and their ideas about ADHD, and the treatments they can offer. The second goal was to research any links between their knowledge and different elements, to identify means to improve patient care processes. The results have shown that these doctors have a lack of knowledge, which can be filled through training. Specialized consultations waiting time is long, especially in rural areas, and there is a lack of information regarding the facilities available in the area. We are suggesting training on ADHD and its treatment for first care doctors, the development of second care facilities, and the improvement of coordination between school, healthcare services, and family setting.
