Résumé
WHO has identified physical inactivity as one of the main causes of avoidable mortality in western countries. Health benefits due to physical activity are well documented. Physical activity is an essential part in maintaining good health. In France, as in other countries, programmes and legislation have been introduced to promote physical activity and optimise the health pathway around its prescription. However, there is still some lack of visibility for the provision of physical activity adapted to patients’limitations, particularly in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Objective: to optimise the health care pathway centred on the prescription of physical activities, based on the existing local characteristics of the dispensing network. Method: data collection by questionnaire using Limesurvey®, distributed to the structures and then analysed in an Excel® spreadsheet. Results: out of 179 answers received, 30% (55 facilities) stated that they had already offered health sports dispensing services. However, the majority said that they did not receive enough requests to develop existing services. The way funds are used and lack of coordination between the various actors are two of the main impediments to development. Mapping based on the local characteristics of the services identified was carried out. Conclusion: the day-to-day challenge of referring patients to adapted physical activities is a major public health issue. An exhaustive and regularly updated map could improve patients referrals and their health pathways, as there is a real and potential pool of offers in the area. Implementing these optimisations would require close collaboration between the actors involved, as well as financial and organisational support.
