If the adult in a situation of dependence in an institution presents particular needs in terms of oral health, its management in practice encounters numerous obstacles such as the lack of means, access to care and information. Through this study, we wanted to focus on the awareness of professional teams to oral health, its importance and its multidisciplinary aspect, and on the factors able to improve it. We studied the influence of the intervention of speech therapists and dental surgeons within the institutions and the impact of the distribution of a prevention leaflet. For this purpose, we sent questionnaires to caregivers working in MAS, EAM and EHPAD, in order to collect interest, knowledge and difficulties encountered. The results obtained underline the effect of these two factors in improving the teams' knowledge. The professionals questioned gave more detailed and precise answers when the speech therapist and the dental surgeon intervened in the structure or after the distribution of the prevention brochure. A transfer of this knowledge into practice is expected with the objective of providing the best possible patient care.
