Résumé
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is a highly transmissible and pathogenic coronavirus that emerged in November 2019 and has caused a pandemic of acute respiratory disease named coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19), which threatens human health and public safety. At the pandemic’s first year mark, this work provides a comprehensive report on the scientific progress made in the past year in understanding of SARS-CoV-2 from its basic virology including genomic characteristics and receptor use to the advances in the development of therapeutics and vaccines. The current knowledge of clinical, epidemiological features of COVID-19 are summarized.
