Résumé
Feeding is a multi-component function that changes greatly during the first three years of life. When it is disturbed, the transition to a diversified diet can be a source of difficulties. These difficulties impact not only the patient's function and relationship with food, with various consequences, but also the entire family circle, with repercussions on daily life. Moreover, children from 6 months to 3 years of age have specific nutritional needs. Their diets may be modified due to allergies or inadequate caloric intake. The treatment of these disorders must therefore be carried out in a multi-professional and coordinated manner, and requires the inclusion of parents, taking into account their functioning as well as their requests. We therefore wished to develop material that would meet both the needs and problems of parents, and serve a tool for professionals that would be specific to the care of Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD), allowing for continuity of care at home. In order to do this, we gathered the opinions of many parents and professionals through questionnaires before its construction. The tool proposes appropriate recipes from a nutritional point of view, but also from a sensory, motor and oro-praxic point of view, with textures adapted to the disorder and to the possibilities of these children. We then submitted it to several families in order to collect their opinions and views on its use. The study showed that our tool helps the parents in the realization of the meals, proposes new sensory experiences thanks to the participation of the child and the use of the Baby Led Introduction to SolidS (BLISS) and contributes to the improvement of the daily life of the whole family.
