The head and neck cancer being the 7th most recurrent cancer type in the world, its treatment represents a major public health need. Current options, such as radiotherapy, tend to often cause toxicities, directly impacting the patient's quality of life. For instance, Radio-Induced cutaneous Fibrosis (RIF) is a late side effect found in nearly one out of two patients after treatment with radiotherapy. RIF considerably harms the patient's quality of life by bringing discomfort and/or disability, in addition to the aesthetic constraint for which it causes.Unfortunately, even though the management of RIF appears to be essential, currently the number of approved therapies remains very low. Thus, the use of old molecules, such as statins, offers a new innovative therapeutic solution for the patient while allowing us todeepen the available knowledge on the pleiotropic effects of this medicine. The implementation of clinical studies, such as PRAVACUR, represents an opportunity for patients to access a potential solution for improving their quality of life and contributes to the acceptance of their care pathway in this particular context in oncology.
