Résumé
Nowadays, cancer no longer conveys the image of a modern-day scourge that overwhelms society. The history of cancer has been linked to the genesis of anti-cancer therapies, and many new treatments have emerged, each more innovative than the last. Today, 1 in 2 patients is cured of cancer. This has become possible thanks to the effectiveness of molecular oncology and precision medicine. However, there remains a considerable shadow over the picture: these treatments, despite their increased specificity and precision, are not free of side effects. Among these, skin manifestations are in top of the list. To reduce and relieve these effects, dermatological laboratories and specialized brands have entered the oncology market with a new offering: dermo-cosmetics as supportive care. Pharmacists, as trusted health care providers, play an essential role in helping patients throughout their treatment. As a partner, the dermatological laboratory Eau Thermale Avène supports them in the dermo-cosmetic management of cutaneous side effects induced by cancer treatments. Eau Thermale Avène program, dedicated to the management of supportive care in pharmacies, was born out of this approach.
