Résumé
Phytotherapy is an ancestral medicinal practice that combines empirical knowledge and know-how. It constitutes a major part of the area of expertise of the pharmacist, who has a crucial role in the development, safeguarding and transmission of this science. Through this thesis, we have tried to contribute, at our level, to this approach. The work presented in this writing consists of ensuring the durability of the works of a druggist and promoting this pharmaceutical knowledge and know-how. The object of our studies is a herbarium drawn up in 1977 by Professor André Gourou, doctor of Pharmacy and former student at the faculty of Pharmacy of Montpellier. We first digitized it in order to archive it permanently, then we corrected and updated it. Finally, we decided to study the interest of phytotherapy in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, through plants from the digitized herbarium. All the work mentioned in this thesis suggests that these plants could constitute a promising way in the development of treatments against Alzheimer's disease, although additional studies are necessary in order to better understand the nature of the active compounds as well as their mechanisms of action. Far from falling into disuse, herbal medicine seems to still have a lot to offer. In addition, the improvement of our research and analysis methods will undoubtedly allow us, in the future, to discover more phytochemicals with as yet unsuspected therapeutic potential.
