During the perinatal period, women have increased risk for psychiatric disorders, which are highly prevalent in this context. In addition, there are significant delays in diagnosing these conditions, worsening their prognosis and increasing their societal burden. In current practice, clinical diagnoses lack sensitivity compared to standardised assessments. Also, studies describing psychiatric disorders in the perinatal period often focus on specific disorders, particularly postpartum depression. Methods and analysis: this multicentric prospective study will recruit 140 adult pregnant women based on randomly selected T2 ultrasound consultations. The primary outcome will be the prevalence of any psychiatric disorder assessed with a standardised psychiatric scale, the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI). Within 10 days after the T2 ultrasound appointment, we will conduct the MINI, collect demographic data, evaluate precarity and suicidal behaviour, and describe negative life events from the past year. Participants will also complete self-administered psychiatric questionnaires. We will propose a biological sample collection to create a biobank. Two months postpartum, we will repeat the questionnaires, adding an assessment of mother-child bonding. Conclusion: to date, 17 pregnant women have been recruited. Study results are expected in the 1st half of 2025.
