Résumé
Visceral leishmaniasis, caused by Leishmania infantum, affects both humans and animals. Its geographical expansion has been largely influenced by environmental changes such as global warming. Dogs play a crucial role as a reservoir for the pathogen and also serve as sentinels in managing the disease. Therefore, the veterinary pharmaceutical industry plays a key role in combating this pathology by developing external parasiticides targeting the vector, the sandfly, and raising awareness among dog owners about the associated risks. This thesis presents a case study conducted within the company Ceva Santé Animale, focused on the prevention and communication strategies deployed by the company to fight canine leishmaniosis. The "Stronger Together" initiative launched by the company in 2022 has built a community of experts and professionals motivated by a common objective: to fight vector-borne diseases. The European "Check & Protect" study pursues this objective by raising awareness among dog owners about the use of parasiticides and assessing their knowledge on these vector-borne diseases.
