Domestic violence is a real public health issue and its impact on women's health is no longer to be demonstrated. The stakes are even greater since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic when domestic violence has increased. Objective: the objective of our study was to describe the obstacles and levers to the identification and management of domestic violence by general practitioners during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and methods: qualitative study by thematic analysis of content based on semi-directed interviews, carried out with general practitioners from Occitanie. Results: the main obstacles found in our study are; limited identification of domestic violence by general practitioners, prejudices about the profile of women victims of violence and a feeling of helplessness among doctors on this subject. Other obstacles are described, with in particular a limited availability of doctors for consultation, a lack of initial training, an insufficient assessment of the dangerousness of the situation, priority given to other problems induced by the COVID-19 disease, a reduction in office consultations during lockdown and the lack of privacy in teleconsultations. The main levers found are; awareness and training during internships or medical studies on the subject of violence, systematic identification, the relationship of trust established between the doctor and his patient, accessibility to teleconsultations by women victims, the doctor's multidisciplinary network and practical tools referencing essential numbers. Conclusion: the collection of these elements can allow us to adapt the identification and management by general practitioners of domestic violence, particularly during a pandemic. Raising awareness for general practitioners through enhanced training could have a significant impact and teleconsultation seems to be an efficient tool to develop.
