Résumé
Today, hiking is the discipline the most practiced in France. However, its popularity leads to a greater number of accident and remains one of the least supervised sports. The objective of our study was to explore the patients’ needs and expectation in their activity as amateur hiking, with their primary care physician, by a qualitative study with collection by semi-structured interviews. A thematic analysis was carried out continuously, with researcher triangulation until data saturation. Of the 10 practitioners interviewed, their needs varied according to their medical follow-up and their way of practicing, with practice rarely discussed in consultation. Patients followed on a habitual and regular basis did not have any expectations, the same for those whose practice of hiking was occasional and easy to access. However, more particular attention is required for more intense practice. Faced with an autonomous practice, the general practitioner seems to be the ideal contact for supporting these athletes.
