Résumé
The aim of our study is to assess the current state of access to information concerning the care pathway of patients with oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancer, in order to create a suitable information medium. The importance and benefits of patient information have been demonstrated in literature. Thus, we questioned ourselves about the provision of information in professional health practice. To do this, we developed and distributed questionnaires intended for patients and their families as well as healthcare professionals working in the field of head and neck cancer. The answers we received highlighted issues related to lack of access for patients to comprehensive information about the healthcare and treatment journey. Furthermore, we proposed information axes related to the care journey, to assess the value of including them on an information medium. These results allowed us to create an information medium based on current practices and offering content, adjusted and validated by those to whom it is intended. A website with general information on the care pathway of patients with oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancer has thus been developed.
