Our study focused on early speech and language therapy intervention in the development of children with Down's syndrome. We centered our work on the importance for parents to be made aware, as soon as possible, of the interest in this intervention and their understanding of the different objectives around the oro-facial sphere, pre-language, sensory awakening, and oral feeding. First and foremost, we highlighted via a questionnaire that the gravity and the interest of this prompt follow-up were not systematically communicated to the parents by the professionals at the time of the announcement. For some of these children, this seems to delay the implementation of speech and language therapy, whereas to be most beneficial, it must be quick, understood, and continued at home. Secondly, we sought to find out more about the parents' expectations and their inquiries. This dissertation, therefore, proposes to respond to these different needs by creating a support booklet for parents who have just learned of their child's Down's syndrome or for parents of children with Down's syndrome aged between 0 and 3 years. The booklet should enable them to comprehend better and retain information about their child's pathology and early speech therapy care.
