Résumé
Spouse abuse is a public health issue, with heavy consequences on victims' health. French legislation is protective. General practitioners are a key element for detection and management of spouse abuse, they must be a part of a multidisciplinary network with caregivers and non-caregivers. Data collection and analysis: we carried-out a qualitative study among twenty-five actors in order to analyse proposals made by law and social workers of the field of spouse abuse victims. Afterwards, a thematical analysis has been realized. Results: general practitioner is a key actor, but his position can be ambiguous. He lacks of training and doesn't know legal aspects. He makes incomplete medical certificates. Various proposals are made given these observations. They involve setting up training, encouraging meetings, creating places of reference and appointing resource persons. Discussion: to our knowledge, this is the first analysis addressing the general practioner's place from the law and social network point of view. These results are obtained in a context of local mobilization in Perpignan. Conclusion: a general practitioner can be isolated in the care of women victims of spouse abuse. His integration in the existing law and social network is essential, in order to increase screening.
