Résumé
First, we briefly define the conventional dental impression, its indications and disadvantages in pediatric dentistry. Then we define the digital dental impression, its mode of operation and characteristics. Secondly, we describe the contributions of intraoral scanners, their limits and their areas of clinical applications through clinical cases (in pediatric odontology). Thirdly, we carried out a survey among French pediatric dentists on the use of optical impression in order to collect their opinion and analyze the results obtained, in order to obtain clues as to the future of this technology in discipline.
