Drug falsification and counterfeiting have always existed. However, the emergence of new distribution channels has enabled their strong growth in recent years, boosted by record profitability rates and limited sanctions. In this manuscript we will study the evolution of this trafficking on all the continents of our planet as well as the health, economic and political consequences.
