Résumé

Hypertension artérielle Maladies cardiovasculaires Mortalité Analyse par cohorte Facteurs de risque de maladie cardiaque
Hypertension is both a chronic disease and a modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular events. It is recognized as the most common chronic disease worldwide. Optimal management is essential to limit cardiovascular complications and the associated mortality. Numerous scores exist to estimate cardiovascular risk, but none are specifically designed for the French population. The objective of this study was to identify mortality risk factors within a cohort of hypertensive or normotensive French patients who had never been treated for their hypertension. Within our cohort of 828 patients, we were able to confirm the role of traditional cardiovascular risk factors (age, sex, blood pressure, hypertriglyceridemia, glomerular filtration rate) in all-cause mortality. We also found a statistically significant difference in mortality for 'exploratory' risk factors (retinal vessel diameter, pulse wave velocity, cardiac ultrasound findings). Further studies will be necessary, using other French cohorts, to refine existing cardiovascular morbidity and mortality scores, specifically for the French population.
