Résumé
Oral eating disorders with children are common and underdiagnosed. Early detection is necessary to start treatment with a trained speech therapist. The objective of this study was to explore the impact of a waiting room poster screening for oral disorders in general medicine for 6 months to 6 years old children. Method: qualitative study with thematic analysis. A first interview was conducted with the doctor to present the study, the oral disorders, speech therapists from the area can then take care of them and leave a poster in the waiting room. A semi-structured interview with general practitioners was carried out 3 months later. Results: the poster was visible in 5 surgeries’ waiting rooms and for 15 general practitioners. 14 could be interviewed, one was lost to sight. The results showed a lack of training on this topic, responsible for a lack of screening. The poster was mostly appreciated as well as the information provided. The lack of an established network for the management of this pathology was felt. The list of experienced speech therapists was appreciated. Many parents have been made aware of the risk. Regarding health professionals, different opinions were collected, from the least interested to the most enthusiastic about the usefulness of the poster in promoting screening for food orality. Conclusion: posters can be a way to educate patients and caregivers and improve the screening for speech disorders.
