Résumé

Dépression prénatale Nutrition Conséquences de la dépression prénatale Supplémentation nutritionnelle
Prenatal depression is a very common complication of pregnancy, and yet little known to the general public. The consequences of fetal exposure to untreated depression are more or less significant in the more or less long term for the offspring. Many pregnant women stop or refuse their antidepressant treatment during pregnancy for fear of the consequences for the fetus. The objective of this topic is to assess the role of maternal nutritional status as a risk factor for prenatal depression and the benefit that nutritional supplementation could have on the management of this depression. Studies involving pregnant women are limited and do not allow us to conclude on the benefit of nutritional supplementation in the management of depression, both preventive and curative. However, the currently available literature suggests a role of nutritional status as a risk factor in the development and progression of depression. Nutritional supplementation could be a promising strategy in pregnant women to reduce the need forantidepressant treatments during pregnancy. However, more studies are needed to obtain conclusive results in pregnant women.
