Résumé
To fully understand the challenges linked to cultivating aromatic and medicinal plants, it is necessary to address the whole agricultural process, to harvesting, through the study of soils, preparation of the ground, or fertilizer use. Once the crop is grown up, and the final product harvested, it can be processed such as to extract the essential oil. A set of regulations apply to master those processes and guarantee a high-quality end product. Four plants have been selected here based on their development prospects in the Occitanie region: Thyme, Rosemary, Lavender and Helichrysum. For each of them let's specify: the topic of culture from planting to harvest, implementation environment, production yield and water requirement, pests and diseases, various strains of chemotypes. For each of these plants, some medicinal properties and therapeutic uses from literature will be specified.
