Résumé
Research shows that communication between caregivers and residents of nursing homes can be difficult, especially when neurocognitive disorders are present. Our study focuses on the relevance of training on aging and communication for the staff of these institutions. An intervention in two sessions was proposed in three nursing homes. Role-playing were used to allow caregivers to take an active part in the training. Pre-and post-training questionnaires were given to the participants in order to observe potential changes. Our results show an improvement in caregivers' knowledge of communication as well as their professional well-being and feelings. Even if our study presents some biases, it shows the interest of intervention focused on communication with professional caregivers.
