Constraint-Induced Aphasia Therapy (CIAT) is a rehabilitation technique for chronic (but also subacute and acute) aphasie. It is based on four main parameters: intensity, frequency, constraint and group; which promote the recovery of language and communication skills of aphasic subjects. Objective: many studies have attempted to change the parameters of the CIAT but few have focused on the group format. The objective of this research is then to individualize the therapy in order to measure its effectiveness and interest. Methods: the therapy was proposed to 3 aphasic subjects in subacute and chronic phase over 10 days at a rate of 3 hours per day. The objective of the therapy is to resort only the verbal channel to use the therapeutic game which consists in reforming pairs of cards. Thus, subjects are forced to make verbal requests without being able to use other channels of communication. In the individual format, the therapist plays an active role, becoming a partner in play and communication. Results: the results of the different tests suggested show improvements in the scores of the naming, image description (informativity), and communication scale tests. On the other hand, categorical and order-execution performance are heterogeneous and do not allow conclusions to be drawn. Conclusion: individual CIAT has had a positive impact on language and communication skills both quantitatively and qualitatively. The subjects and their families report real progress on a daily basis. The individualization of CIAT offers new perspectives of care for aphasic subjects and can respond to organizational constraints.
