Résumé
For the purpose of this study, we carried out an analysis of the pragmatic skills of 5 patients with a diffuse low-grade glioma resection in the prefrontal area and we compared them to their matched controls’ ones. The experimental protocol was composed of tests evaluating inferential and discursive abilities but also executive functions in order to establish potential correlations. Our results highlight a significant difference between patients and matched controls in the process of discursive skills with lower scores for the patients. Furthermore, no significant correlations were observed between executive skills and discursive or inferential abilities. Nevertheless, we noticed that a probability value (P-value) was almost statistically significant, expressing a possible link between poor executive functions and difficulties with inferential comprehension. It would be interesting to conduct a large-scale study of this potential link. These findings invite us to perform more precise analyses of pragmatic abilities, in particular discursive abilities, on patients with diffuse low-grade gliomas in prefrontal.
