Climate change is a major challenge for public health. The rise in temperature and extreme weather events (heat waves, cyclones, etc.) are sources of danger that can have a direct or indirect impact on the health of populations. The multiplication of certain vectors historically found in tropical zones is currently possible in temperate zones. These changes in the location of vectors will have an influence on the health management of vector-borne diseases in the near future.Since 2017, the island of Reunion has been affected by successive waves of dengue, with varying degrees of impact on the population and the health care system. Vector control combines individual and collective actions in order to limit the development of mosquitoes, and their possible transmission of pathologies. The most effective means of individual protection remain mosquito nets and skin repellents, as stated in the numerous health recommendations. A decrease is to be noted in 2022, however these figures must be consolidated. The alliance of different public health actors allows for an organized and efficient fight against the vector. This alliance is intended to be multidisciplinary, with an inclusion of the patient-actor of his health and health professionals (medical and paramedical) who surround him.
