Résumé
This study was conducted in partnership with the Association de Prévention en Orthophonie de l’Hérault. Our goal was to study the interest of setting parent groups in language and screen prevention. To address these tasks, we set up five groups of parents of children aged 3 to 6 years-old followed in speech therapy, for whom excessive use screen had been observed. Our action took place in two stages. The aim was first to inform families about language development and to raise awareness of the effects of over exposure, then to share together ideas about concrete solutions in order to have more reasoned use of screens, adapted to family life and children’s needs. Questionnaires had been submitted to evaluate our action and a qualitative analysis had been carried out. Too few subjects took part in the study to allow the conclusion of significant results. However, it appears that our parent groups and the resulting tools seem to be an effective way of preventing the dangers of screen overexposure, especially in terms of language and interactions.
