Résumé
Due to the aging of the “baby boomer” generation, the geriatric population increases every year. This makes the patients’ medical and social care rather complex. The Perpignan’s hospital « outdoor-hospital mobile health unit » operates in the elderly’s homes. Its aim is to make a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and suggests a personalized health care plan to the attending physician. The project enables the physician to take care of the patients’ health and wellbeing in their homes. Objective: the aim of this study is to analyse the encounter of the general practitioners who requested the mobile team for its intervention. The secondary objective is to identify the general practitioners’ expectations and needs of the mobile team. Due to this, we can suggest improvements for the mobile team. Method: it is a comprehensive qualitative study with semi-structured interviews and a thematic analysis. Eleven General practitioners who requested the mobile team where enlisted between june and october 2019. Results: interviewed General practitioners said that they face problems in the medical, relational and administrative aspects concerning their elderly patients. They feel isolated in their work. They think that the mobile team is helpful in both a confraternity and a socio-medical way. The main problems they faced is because of a lack of knowledge about the team or the lack of staff and material. Conclusion: the Perpignan’s hospital « outdoor-hospital mobile health unit » is a useful but perfectible tool. Improving the communication about the mobile team and increasing the team’s staff and material might benefit the upcoming evaluations.
