Résumé
The work presented focuses on modelling the structure and dynamics of tropical forests as applied to their management. The systems studied include the agroforests of Sumatra (Indonesia) and the natural forest of French Guiana (Amazonia). Four specific points are addressed: 1/ interactions between trees and their consideration in stand-centred individual stand models 2/ functional traits and their use in dynamic models 3/ the contribution of LiDAR Light Detection and Ranging technology in the study of stand structure and dynamics 4/ the interest of hierarchical models to deal with the specific megadiversity of tropical forests.
