Abstract
The electro-osmosis phenomenon is of great interest in several ¯elds : soil science, site remediation, biotechnology, ... In part I, a modelling of electro-osmosis in deformable porous media is proposed. The expressions of dissipations highlight the contribution of transfer phenomena and mechanics to entropy growth. In part II, the transport relation of an electrolyte is established. An experimental device was developed in order to analyse the coupling between hydraulic and electric phenomena. The material is Agar gel, a biphasic gel widely used in biomedical engineering as a reference medium for soft tissues. In part III, the deformation of the solid skeleton and its coupling with electro-osmotic transport is considered. Some aspects are validated by drained ¾dometric tests on Agar gel under mechanical end electrical stresses.
