My doctoral research work is based on observations and field interviews. I revealed that the socio-spatial practices of most of the geographical actors dealing with the winds, in the North Western Mediterranean area, are characterized by technological hybridization and deterritorialization (part 1). Change in the practices of interactions with the winds can be linked to the geohistory of anemology: overtime, scientific progresses built a paradigm of wind modelling (part 2). My doctoral work stresses the importance of an esthetical and phenomenological approach that would include sensitive perception, symbolic imaginary, and artistic expressions (part 3). This approach would re-centre the relations between human beings and the winds: the very experience that North Western Mediterranean societies have shaped by living with the winds. The last part of my dissertation analyses to which extent this approach based on those new ‘human’ practices (architecture, energy) could be useful for public action purpose (part 4).
