Résumé

This dataset brings together forest inventories carried out in mangrove ecosystems in French Guiana between 2024 and 2025. Each record corresponds to an inventory plot identified by a unique code (PlotID) and characterized by the survey year, the sampled area (m²), geographic coordinates in the UTM WGS84 Zone 22N system (latitude and longitude in meters), species composition, number of trees per hectare (ha), as well as estimates of above-ground biomass (AGB, tonnes of dry matter per hectare, t/ha) and above-ground carbon (AGC, tonnes per hectare, t/ha). The inventories were conducted on plots of variable size (100 to 5,000 m²) with identification of the species present coded by letters: A = Avicennia germinans, R = Rhizophora (two species not distinguished), L = Laguncularia racemosa. Above-ground biomass (AGB) was calculated using species-specific allometric equations described in Fromard et al. (1998) and Olagoke et al. (2016). Above-ground carbon (AGC) was estimated using the allometric relationship described in Kauffman and Donato (2012). The data were collected as part of the ESA Coastal Blue Carbon project (ESA Contract No. 4000143758/23/I-NS), the MAGELLAN project funded by the national PEPR SOLUBIOD program, the TROPECOS project funded by the national FAIR-CARBON program, the OYAMANG project funded by OHM Oyapock and the DRIIHM LabEx, and the multidisciplinary Mangrove Observatory project funded by DGTM Guyane. IRD Cayenne provided all necessary logistical support.
