Résumé
The quality of the predictions obtained in numerical simulations is investigated for the flow around a circular cylinder at different Reynolds numbers. This classical test case contains most of the difficulties also encountered in more complex industrial flows, viz. boundary-layer separation not imposed by geometry and an unsteady 3D wake. The variational multiscale large-eddy simulation approach and a hybrid RANS/LES model are used with a mixed finite-element/volume compressible flow solver.
