Homogeneisation of consolidation, transient fluid flow and solute transport in dual-porosity media has highlighted theexistence of three characteristic macroscopic behaviours. The present paper is aimed towards presenting the original results that consists of relating each type of behaviour to a specific relationship between two characteristics times. The result is valid for any phenomenon,
