The Cheliff watershed has a considerable expanse from east to west, beginning with M'Sila toMostaganem, as seen from this expanse, with great climatic, topographic, geological diversity etc., hence themagnitude of the solid transport phenomenon and the resulting siltation. The scarcity of the region's waterresource (average 450 mm•y-1), hence the need to preserve and further develop the storage capacity of the region'sdams, which are increasingly threatened by siltation, which is growing year-over-year, without models and toolsthat allow us to track the spatial and temporal evolution of solid transport, since the study area is the Ghrib-Cheliff sub-watershed, with an area of 1378,63 km², located approximately 100 km southwest of Alger.In this study, we classify daily solid particle matter (SPM), or over several days (corresponding exportedtonnages), according to the rainfall and corresponding flood. The statistical analysis results found showed thatevents fit very well with the Exponential distribution (AIC and BIC Criteria). Also, the dependence of theseevents was tested via six copulas, the results of which concluded that Clayton and Gumbel copulas are mostlyselected.
