Abstract
The 7th International Conference on Optics and Excitons in Confined Systems (OECS7) took place in Montpellier, France, September 3–7, 2001. The scope of the conference was to bring together scientists working on the optical properties of semiconductor materials which are associated with interband transitions. Emphasis has been placed on heterostructures of low dimensionality (quantum wires and quantum dots). Particular attention has been devoted to the coherent optical response (coherent control, dephasing mechanisms, …) and to space- and time-resolved measurements. It has already become a tradition to publish the Proceedings of this conference in physica status solidi.
