In colloidal gels, the formation of the gel network corresponds to the onset of heterogeneous and complex dynamics. A model where directional interactions promote the formation of a large-scale disordered structure helps to elucidate these phenomena, revealing the role of different part of the structure in the slowing down of the dynamics.
