This project is to study on a period of significant length what has been, concretely, the wagepolicy of the French defence ministry. A first step would be to study the evolution of themilitary wage bill, for separating the effects of strength evolution, wage rate evolutions and“age-technicity slide”, to know if there has been a space for a military condition improvementpolicy. Then it would be interesting to discover what form has taken such a policy.
