Résumé
The purpose of this research is to implement and test an integrative model allowing to better understand the diversity of international involvement modes used by small and medium-sized enterprises’ (SMEs). Using the resource-based framework, we consider three different types of determinant resources: export promotion programmes, risk management practices, and international entrepreneurial orientation. Based on a structural equation model, applied to a data sample collected from 147 internationalized SMEs, we test a complete conceptual model to explain their specific and articulated role in the diversity of international involvement modes. We also compare the relationships between born-global and traditional SMEs.
